Meeting Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Beijing on Friday, Xi said China supported Bangladesh in ensuring the smooth administration of its new government and was ready to expand high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Xi said Beijing was keen to strengthen strategic cooperation by identifying new areas for investment and development, particularly in green and low-carbon industries, the digital economy, information technology and artificial intelligence. The meeting underscores China\u2019s efforts to deepen its economic and strategic engagement with South Asia, where Bangladesh has emerged as a key partner under the Belt and Road Initiative.<\/p>\n

China is Bangladesh\u2019s largest trading partner and a major investor in infrastructure, energy and transport projects.
