The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming Galmudug presidential election and the party\u2019s strategy for participating in the electoral process. Following deliberations, the committee overwhelmingly approved Libaan Ahmed Hassan as the JSP\u2019s official flag bearer, saying the nomination reflects the party\u2019s confidence in his leadership and ability to lead Galmudug.<\/p>\n

The party said it will intensify its campaign activities and election preparations in the coming days as it seeks to secure victory in the regional presidential election. The endorsement comes a day after incumbent Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye, widely known as Qoorqoor, announced on Friday that he was withdrawing from the presidential race.<\/p>\n

Qoorqoor said his decision was guided by the interests of stability and the public good, adding that he would support whoever is elected to lead the state.<\/p>\n
