The ministry called on traditional elders, religious leaders, women, youth representatives, community figures and officials from the regional state of Hirshabelle to play an active role in mediating the conflict, promoting peaceful coexistence and supporting efforts to reach a lasting settlement.
The government said restoring peace and preventing further displacement remained a priority, while urging communities to resolve disputes through dialogue and established reconciliation mechanisms. The ministry extended its condolences to the families of those killed and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the clashes.
The episode underscores the continuing pressure on Somali institutions as the federal government and regional authorities seek to balance security operations with political stability and public confidence.
